Robert Hill (b1844 – d1899) (George Frederick's father)

Born 25 February 1844 at Tangier, Bishops Hull to Robert Hill and Charlotte Hill (Palfrey). Baptised in the parish of St Mary Magdelene, Taunton on 24 March 1844.
Living at Tangier, Bishops Hull in 1851 with father Robert age 37 a waggoner, mother Charlotte age 32, sister Mary age 3 and brother James age 2.
Living at 47 Tangier Cottages, Bishops Hull in 1861 age 17 a carter with mother Charlotte age 40, widowed, a charwoman, sister Mary age 14 a silk weaver and brother James age 12 a stoker.
Married Jane Stone on 13 April 1865 at St John’s Church, Taunton. Robert was 21 and a labourer, Jane was 22 and a servant. Present as witnesses were James Willey and Emma Garlands.

Living at North Gate, Bridgwater in 1891 age 47 a general labourer with wife Jane age 48, daughter Clara L age 17 a scale polisher, son George F age 13 an errand boy and daughter Agnes M M age 10 a scholar.
Died 30 May 1899 at Bridgwater Infirmary age 55 from accidental death following fall from boat. Buried 3 June 1899 at Wembdon Road Cemetery, Bridgwater.
