Robert, commonly known as 'Bob', was living with mother Beatrice in 1911 age 2 with her cousin William Parkhouse and his wife Emily and their five daughters at Bawdrip near Bridgwater. William's occupation is given as market gardener and Beatrice's as a dressmaker. Married Violet May Stutt on 27 December 1937 at St James, Taunton. Robert was 29 and a gas worker, Violet was 27 and a spinster. Present as witnesses were Douglas Thomas Stutt and Hilda Rose Kitch.

Present as witnesses were Oscar William Williams and Beatrice Kate Hill. Alec and Dorothy had four children: Patricia, David, Susan and Christopher.
